 一、依本系教師聘任要點第三條第五項訂定本細則。

 二、本系新聘教師(教授除外)在升等前須接受兩階段評量,第一階段於聘任後兩年六
  個月提出,第二階段於聘任後四年六個月提出,受評者於第一階段及第二階段均
  須主動備妥資料以供教評會審查。若經主管告知後仍未提出資料,則視同放棄續
  聘之權利。

    三、第一階段審核條件為:

    (一)新進教師須以在中山大學之研究成果為主題提出演講。

    (二)提出研究成果及研究進度之書面資料。

    由系主任遴選數位領域相關之委員進行審核工作,評審結果由系主任書面告之。

    四、第二階段審核標準為:

    (一)每年均須提出國科會研究計畫。

    (二)五年內至少獲得兩次國科會主持費或五年內發表以中山大學具名之國內外SCI
          期刊五篇。

    (三)實驗領域教師須建立自己的研究實驗室為原則。

    (四)須滿足本系基本教學及服務要求,未有教學不力之具體事實。

    新進教師未達審核標準者,經本系教評會委員四分之三出席,三分之二以上同意
    得不予續聘;續聘者,得接受系提供之輔導。

    五、本細則經系務會議通過,送理學院教師評審委員會核備後實施,修正時亦同。

Department of Physics Regulations for New Faculty Evaluation

       I.          The present regulations are established based on Article 3, Paragraph 5 of “National Sun Yat-sen University College of Science Department of Physics Regulations for Faculty Appointment.”

     II.          New faculty members (professors not included) must undergo two stages of evaluation prior to promotions. The first stage shall be submitted two and a half years following appointments, and the second stage four and a half years following appointments. Applicants are required to independently prepare and submit all documents required for the first and second stages of evaluation to the faculty evaluation committee. Applicants shall forfeit their reapplication eligibility if documents are not submitted following notifications from relevant authorities.

   III.          The evaluation criteria for the first stage are as follows:

A.    Newly appointed faculty members must present their research findings at a thematic conference held by the university.

B.    Newly appointed faculty members must submit written reports involving their research findings and research progress.

Evaluation is handled by several committee members with relevant specializations elected by the department chair. The evaluation results are announced by the department chair in writing.

  IV.          The evaluation criteria for the first second stage are as follows:

A.    Faculty members must participate in a Ministry of Science and Technology research project each year.

B.    Faculty members must each receive two host fees from the Ministry of Science and Technology within five years or publish five works in domestic or international SCI journals within five years.

C.    Faculty members responsible for experiments must establish their own research experiment laboratories.

D.    Faculty members must satisfy basic teaching and service requirements and show adequate teaching competencies.

Newly appointed candidates that fail evaluations may be approved for non-renewal of appointments with two-thirds votes in a meeting with no less than three-quarters of the committee members present. Newly appointed candidates that fail evaluations are

    V.          The present regulations shall be implemented following approvals of department general meetings and submission to the College of Science Faculty Evaluation Committee for documentation. The same procedure shall be carried out when amendments are to be made.
